I fully checked everything else under the tab as well. The client computer still cannot connect. The printer is shared as well, except the client computers cannot connect to it. Troubleshooting the printer just returns the cannot identify the problem result, as it does for everything.
My conclusion is that printer sharing does not work in Windows 10 any more. I hooked the printer up to the modem with a LAN cable and all the computers now have access to it. I then connected it to our desktop computer and shared it with the laptop, and it worked for some time.
But after several updates of version Build I then found an advice on the net suggesting to check if SMB1. You can do that by searching for "windows features" and scroll down to SMB1. In my case one of the child boxes SMB1.
Having checked that box the printing returned after a restart of the laptop. I know that a cable and a switch will solve the problem. But to let other people know of a cheaper method I wanted to tell that the SMB1.
I followed the instructions in this video and got mine working properly again. I am trying to resolve sharing and network issues after the patch. This thread is locked.

I have the same question If your printer or other equipment is plugged in to a surge protector or a backup power supply, make sure that hardware is plugged in and turned on as well. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection.
Many printers have a button that displays a blue wireless icon when wireless is available. A troubleshooter is an automated tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your PC.
The printing troubleshooter can fix problems with installing and connecting to a printer. Most printers require driver software to work properly. If you recently upgraded from one version of Windows to another, it's possible that the current printer driver is for the previous version of Windows. If you've had recent power outages, viruses, or other computer problems, it's possible that the drivers have become damaged.
Downloading and installing the latest driver for your printer can resolve these types of problems. Install software from the printer manufacturer. If your printer came with a disc, that disc might contain software that installs a driver for the printer. Download and install the driver yourself. You can search for a driver on the manufacturer's website. Try this if Windows Update can't find a driver for your printer, and the printer didn't come with software that installs a driver.
