Free speaker design software

WinSpeakerz allows you to design 18 different box types! Plus you can specify any number of identical drivers in an enclosure. Each Driver Record is extremely detailed with provisions for over 98 different driver parameters.

Enter as much or as little information on each driver as you'd like. Space is provided for such details as the driver's bolt circle diameter, front and rear mount baffle cutout diameters and retail price. Driver records can be added, edited and deleted.

The WinSpeakerz Driver Database. The screenshot below shows the Rectangular Box Calculator. You can also select Trapezoidal and Bandpass Box Calculators.

Enter box dimensions and the box volume will be calculated, or, enter a box volume and the dimensions will be calculated using the Golden Ratio. The enclosure calculators have locks in each of the dimension fields. This allows you to lock a couple of the parameters of the enclosure and let others float to achieve the volume of the enclosure you want.

The WinSpeakerz Box Calculators. The Crossover Calculators Enter the impedances of the tweeter and woofer and specify the crossover frequency. The crossover calculators will give you the component values needed for the crossover type you selected.

WinSpeakerz version 2. The WinSpeakerz Crossover Calculators. In order to see the full details of the System currently on the Workbench you open the System Editor by selecting "Edit System" under the Edit menu or at the toolbar. The System Editor is the place to make adjustments to various system parameters such as box loss Q, isobaric factor, R e , etc.

Each Project file holds 10 System memories, each a snapshot of the Workbench containing a complete driver file, full details on the enclosure, crossover, impedance compensator networks, and detailed notes on the System. Systems can be instantly recalled to the Workbench by clicking the corresponding buttons on the toolbar. Any combination of saved Systems can be recalled for comparison of different drivers in similar enclosures or the same driver in various enclosures.

This popular speaker simulator lets you propose various speaker systems and then evaluate them in software before you cut wood or order expensive transducer components.

A typical design session might go like this: you select a woofer for your home theater project from the driver database and load it to the "workbench". Next, you select the type of enclosure you want to simulate. You have a choice of closed, vented or bandpass boxes with a total of 18 different variations.

For your home theater project you decide on a vented box. Now enter different volumes and tunings and run the analysis to see 'what if'. Once you've decided on the box you can open the box calculator and have WinSpeakerz suggest the dimensions. Without a box, due to the lack of the necessary damper, the speaker is very easy to pull out of the stroke, this is when the coil starts to come out of the magnetic gap, it is at this point that any slight distortion of the diffuser can lead to a coil's impact on the core cylindrical magnetic core in the center of the coil , which leads to the detachment of the winding from the coil frame.

Of course there are exceptions, for example, as Free Air subwoofers, which are designed to work in an open volume, but the efficiency of these subwoofers is very small, it is recommended to install them only as a last resort. Imagine how much time you will need to calculate the length of a port by its area and the net volume of a box, then calculate the occupied volume by the port, add it to the net internal volume of a box, and only after that, calculate the dimensions of a box, taking into account the material thickness.

Next, you need to draw a box, on paper or in a program, it will take at least 20 minutes. If you want to visualize the resulting drawing in 3D, using SketchUp for example, you will also need at least 15 minutes, given that you have experience with it. Our online calculator will make a subwoofer box plan, 3D model and other calculations in about 0. It also lets you find custom alignment profile by entering internal box parameter volume, tuning, port diameter, etc.

The frequency response graph is also shown on the interface. It provides a tool named Box Planner which lets you design optimized boxes Greek, Z-Norm based on required dimensions and volume. A Volume Tool is also provided to calculate volume. Box-Port Design is a nice and easy to use speaker design software.

As you hover mouse over a function or parameter, it displays respective description so that it is easier for you to understand. It also comes up with a unit conversion tool. Torres Box Tuning Calculator is another free speaker design software for Windows. It lets you calculate box and port dimensions for audio speakers. The software is pretty intuitive as its main interface contains all input parameters and output calculations.

You need to just enter box dimensions heights, width, depths , port dimensions number of ports, height, width, depth, diameter , and other values including number of extra baffles, displacements woofer, bracing , length of external port, baffle thickness, port thickness, and number of common port walls.

You can also select wood thickness and enter desired gross and net volume. As a result, it shows cut sheet and box stats in real time. The box stats contain values of gross volume, port volume, physical port length, port bends, baffle displacement, port area, port area per foot, port ratio, net volume, and tuning frequency. The calculation formula is also displayed on the interface. The unit used for calculations can be millimeter, centimeter, or inches.

You can also change the view of background, labels, and output boxes by changing respective colors. Boxnotes is a free speaker enclosure design software for Windows. It finds out exact box dimensions to design speaker cabinets. You can use its Min button to select a speaker with minimum dimensions. It provides various arrangements of speakers such as Single 12 inch driver in a box, Twin 12 inch driver in tower box, Quad 12 inch drivers in a square arrangement, etc.

Choose one from any of these arrangements and add its dimensions for the calculation purpose. You can also customize the dimensions and other parameters related port, driver location, etc. The output calculations include Panel Details and Cutting Lists top panel, front outer panel, bottom panel, shelf brace, rear panel, etc. Also, it shows resonances like port resonance, driver to top wall resonance, box top to bottom resonance, etc. A graph with all these values is also displayed at the bottom of interface.

It can generate a report including cutting list, trimming list, resonances, port details, and driver details as a TXT file. Also, panel detail and cutting list can be individually printed. Boxnotes is a decent speaker box design software. It provides customization options like graphing options, unit selection, etc. You can also add sticky notes to your projects. AJ Vented Designer is a lightweight, portable speaker design software.

Based on speaker parameters, it calculates box results including volume Vb , box tuning frequency Fb , cutoff frequency F3 , and length.
