Maybe later. Yeah, right. The Electrocibles stock on the E sporter would make the gun very nice indeed. To me the main difference between the E and the Old is the barrel weight. This makes the barrels lighter on the new Es. You may or may not want this. It is beautifully balanced. The Old models already had medium length cones. I would worry about blowby in cold weather with bargain shells when used in a gun with very long cones.
The new Optima Bore chokes are very, very nice looking. The Beretta wrench is awful, which means that you hand-tighten the tubes- which means that they shoot loose unless you fiddle with them every ten shots or so. Still, the new chokes are very nicely done. The E has laser checkering. I thought it looked awful and felt so-so. Up to you. I must have asked thirty people for their opinion. Everyone else I talked to thought it was a joke. Others said that they could overlook it if they closed their eyes when they picked the gun up.
They continue to raise prices. They really do look at the US a some kind of cash cow. Bottom line: if you want a long barreled Beretta sporter, the E is the clear winner. Pay what you have to and ignore the tasteless cosmetics. The gun balances beautifully and the has a good reputation for reliability. It will balance very nicely with the shorter, heavier barrels and you will have a much better looking gun for a lot less money. Never in doubt.
